Owned by the same company, how do they compare?
In an interesting review, a YouTube user decided to use Lancome cosmetics makeup remover, as well as a comparable, albeit much cheaper product from L'Oreal. L'Oreal owns Lancome so it was interesting to see how the two panned out. With both companies under the same umbrella, some people wonder whether or not they are really just selling the same products. In this video, you'll be able to find out whether they do or not.
From her review, visible here, it looks as if lancome cosmetics and l'oreal are comparable. While this isn't to say all of their products are similar, it shows that at times, it doesn't hurt to go for the lower priced option. With a price difference that can be almost 3X the price to own lancome cosmetics, it is difficult to side with them. For things like the make-up remover that are largely to clear your face, rather than to prep it up, it makes sense that it wouldn't make much of a difference which option you choose.
Of course, it is important to remember that this review is only of lancome's make up remover. While some of their other products may compare as well, some of their higher end make-up simply can't be replaced. So take this video with a grain of salt as it might not be a similar experience for every product you try.
The biggest take away from this video is that you shouldn't just buy cosmetics because of their price or name brand. Instead, it is worth trying the options from each company and seeing which ones you like. If you do, you might be able to save yourself a lot of money.
